1. Start in East London
Depart East London heading north on the N2, the main highway linking the city with the Wild Coast. This road is well-maintained and easy to follow, with fuel stations and stops along the way.
2. Pass Through Butterworth
Continue north on the N2 until you reach Butterworth. It’s the major junction point before turning inland toward Mazeppa Bay. From Butterworth:
Turn right onto Kentani Road, heading east
Follow this road toward Kentani town.
3. Final Stretch to Mazeppa Bay
From Kentani, turn left and follow signs toward Mazeppa Bay Road. This tar-red road leads you directly to Mazeppa Bay; rolling past rural countryside, grazing cattle and wide skies. Expect beautiful viewpoints as you get closer to the coast.

Wild Coast roads are quieter and less lit at night, so starting early from East London means you’ll enjoy scenery and safer driving conditions.

There are fewer petrol stations once you pass Butterworth — make sure you have enough fuel for the journey.
